Inauguration of Forensic Infrastructure Upgrades in the Directorate of Forensic Sciences, Verna-Goa
On 04th August 2026, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod P. Sawant inaugurated the new Forensic Psychology Division and e-Peshi facilities at the Directorate of Forensic Sciences, Verna-Goa.
A dedicated Forensic Psychology Division is established to expand the state's specialized investigative capabilities, pertaining to Lie Detection, Layered Voice Analysis and Narco test.
To comply with the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, 05 virtual deposition cubicles are set up for e-Peshi (Nyay Shruti).
These facilities empower forensic experts to securely depose before Hon’ble Courts via audio-video means. The system eliminates transit delays, saving valuable laboratory hours for scientific analysis.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in modernizing Goa's forensic infrastructure with advanced technological efficiency.
